Anonymous sent -what does lavender menace mean?
Lavender menace is a reference to 1970’s lesbian history. A woman in power alienated the entire lesbian community by calling us a lavender menace - and us being the amazing community we are then took it and made it our own, and started giving one another lavender to showcase the gay. There is an entire movement based on lesbian rights and lesbian exclusion from mainstream feminism. It is for this reason I call myself the lavender menace and why I have lavender tattooed on my body. 🌸 ✨
